ID: MC Jan 11 - Purdy - Gratitude Thanks card
5"w x 7"h

Created: January 2, 2011

So for this card I wanted to use the oval bead die from Spellbinders. Plus I checked my list of challenges and wrote down the various elements and then just started created and layering the card.

I got this Purdy box of chocolates from a co-worker/friend, and when I finished, I thought it was really nice foiled cardstock and it should get die cut. Well one of the challenges motivated me. I cut a piece of the top, removed as much of the heavy cardstock from the foil and then die cut it. Love the look.

The quote and sentiment are both from Quietfire Design.

I sponged Distress Dusty Concord on the edges of a mauve toned Bazzill Monochrome cardstock, dried it then sanded the surface to get back some of the mauve.

I embossed a piece of white cardstock using the Cuttlebug Floral Screen embossing folder, then inked the high points and embossed with Winter Wonderland which is a white/silver glitter.

I wrapped some lace, the white and the purple around the edge of my embossed white piece and then a piece of purple ribbon.

I layered these elements together, then added the four mauve heart brads in the corners, then layered it onto my main white card edge to edge.

I stamped my quote onto the die cut with the black and clear embossed it and layered it to my card. Stamped the sentiment below with the black.

The ribbon/button/bow was a technique I recently learnt, using short pieces of paper (in my case ribbon), twisting them and then adhering them in a circle pattern. I added the pearl floral button and adhered it to my card with a glue gun.

As a final touch I added mauve half pearls in alternate spaces of the die cut beaded area.
