I really liked this floral image so imported it into my Cricut software, added a border and another flower so things were more attached and cut it out. By placing this cutout design on another piece of cardstock and sponging Distress colors onto and through both, I now have a negative and positive image for cards. This is the positive one.

After coloring with the distress colors (Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive, Dried Marigold, Forest Moss, Walnut Stain), then misting with water and drying with a hairdryer, I then rubber stamped a script background stamp (Local King Rubber) using Distress Marigold & Pine Needles.

The blue layer is Graffix clear plastic, done with alcohol inks in a streaky technique to simulate the sky and clouds (Pool, Sailboat, Denim, & Blender), and what looks like a magenta tone from the dirty felt - I always use dirty felts, I love the surprises... At the same time I also did the technique on a piece of Blue Iris Shimmer Sheetz for the butterfly punched with a Paper Shapers punch. I adhered it to the leg of the chair and added an amber teardrop rhinestone for the body.

I backed the clear plastic to a thin white cardstock, so when the card is backlit, you can see the light shine through. This is an easel card, so adhered the floral layer to the plastic/white cardstock layer to the front flap of the easel.

Found an image of an Adirondack chair, cleaned it up and flipped it and made it suitable for my card, then cut it out with my Cricut from a yellow cardstock. There was a longer leg to the chair which I folded, reinforced the fold with a small piece of Linen hinging tape (for bookbinders) colored the hinging tape to matcht the chair, cut a slit in the floor layer and adhered the little piece under the floor.

The floor layer was first sponged with Distress colors (Pumice stone, Forest Moss & Walnut Stain), misted, dried then stamped with the Pumice and a Colorbox Molding Matt of circles which looked like patio stones. I then ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Birthday folder. Brayered the high points with Forest Moss and clear embossed. Adhered it to the floor.

The final element was using a spellbinder's Labels 4 die to die cut the tag from some leftover cardstock, which I further enhanced with similar colors, then wrote my words "Relax  & sit a while it's your Birthday"

Finally I added some yellow flocking to the heads of the flowers, then touched beads of Distress Stickles Antique Bronze, a some Ranger's Black Accents.
