ID: MC June - Cattails Thinking Of You card
5"w x 7"h

Created: June 19, 2010

This card is the result of design elements I used on another card and is basically the negative of that one. Needless to say I couldn't throw it away.

It has a similar flavour to a birthday card I made for a friend recently.
It covers a few challenges:

Method Playground #70 Borders
Charisma Cardz #24 All about Bling
Color Create  #47 Inspiration Image (see below)
Meljen's Designs #12 Fibre Ribbon or Lace
Wee Memories - Suchins #11 Stickers

I had cut out a cattail and frame with my Cricut, sponged distress colors over it on a piece of cardstock, then rubber stamped a script background (Local King Rubber), and this is what the negative piece ended up as. I trimmed the white frame down, mounted it to an olive green cardstock, keeping a thin border. Put a piece of Sookwang tape along the edge of my main rusty brown  card so part of the tape would hold down my other layers and part could be glittered, then adhered my cattail layers onto it. Sprinkled Ritz micro fine glitter (Orange and Chartreuse) and blended the two together.

Stamped my sentiment onto sanded translucent Shrink Plastic, cut some slits for my ribbon, added a little butterfly colored with Prisma colors, baked to shrink and attached my ribbons. Lifted a touch up from both sides of my Cattail layers to stick my ribbon under.

Punched out the Dragonfly from some leftover paper, put Warm Highlights glitter on the wings and adhered the body only to the card. Added the little amber rhinestones on the body.

well I used the colors, the ribbon, rhinestones and glitter, Krylon copper leafing around the shrink plastic like his eyes. Probably a few more things if i really thought about it.
