This card started out for the tall card challenge, and I wanted to make an organza rose, then there was the color recipe...

Paper Sundaes #27 Make your own flowers

I cut a strip of organza that I had dyed yellow about 20 years ago (and was buried in my stash till now). Made my center coil, then started gluing oval petals I cut with Spellbinders dies - various sizes, until I got the size and look I wanted. Sprayed them with some Butterscotch Color Wash and then a bit of water. I cut out the rose leaf with my Cricut from some stiff felt kind of belting material. I added color to them with Prisma colors. The stem is dark green cord.

The main card is white and I sponged Distress Spiced Marmalade all over, misted with some water and dried. I then layered a piece of Tan colored Mulberry paper.

On a strip of white cardstock I punched the edges with Martha Stewart Doily Lace border punch. Then sponged some Antique Linen and Scattered Straw. Adhered it to the card, then adhered a red lace gauze ribbon and edged it with the rose bud ribbon.

The quote (Quietfire Design) was stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia and clear embossed then cut out with Spellbinder's Labels 10, dry embossed and sponged with Fired Brick. I die cut the little pedestal on the faux vase using a die cut from the Fleur de Lis set, sponged it with the red as well. Adhered it to the card and add a red rhinestone.
