I'm still playing with my Cricut. I love horn players. I think It's my favorite instrument to look at and listen to.

OK so there are a lot of challenges this week with Red, White and Blue themes seeing as it's July 4th weekend in the States. And then there were a bunch with a summer theme, so the two just merged together.

So I started with the horn player cut on my Cricut in Dark Blue cardstock.

Stamped the musical notes (Quietfire Design)  with Versafine Majestic Blue on white cardstock and clear embossed. Sponged various Distress blues, misted and dried. Trimmed down to size. Wrapped the wider blue, then the red/white check around the music notes, adhering to the back. Tied a bow with the checked, then strung a Basic narrow blue ribbon into the knot and tied another bow.

The main white card was dry embossed with the Stars folder #37-1911 using my rubber mallet since my card was larger than my machine. Adhered the music notes paper.

Adhered my Horn Player. Did a zig zag stitch with my sewing machine in dark blue, but was lazy and left the light pink bottom bobbin in the machine - Sigh!!. Cut out the word "Summer" with my cricut from some paper I colored in a stripe pattern with Derwent Watercolor pencils.

Wrote in my words following his body contour using White Gouache and a quill nib. As a final touch added the red rhinestones to his shoes.

Words: Roll out those lazy hazy crazy days of summer
