And another done with my Cricut. Love this card. I remember trying to photograph herons when I lived in PEI. They were so illusive, hiding within the marshy areas in the fog shrouded mists.

For the heron, I sponged various Distress blues onto white cardstock, misted with water and dried, then cut with my Cricut. Colored in the beak and legs with black and a touch of yellow on the beak.

The water was done with the darker blues and with more intensity. The water was sprayed and then dribbled at an angle, then dried.

Stamped the cattails (Posh "Cattails") with Versafine black Onxy and embossed with Espresso and a touch of antique Patina.

The grasses (Purple Onion) were stamped with Olympian green. The fern leaves (Flourishes "Ferns & Fiddles" set) in the upper left hand corner were stamped with black.

Adhered my heron, then stamped more cattails on top of the bird to give depth. Embossed those as well.

Put streaks of Ranger's white Enamel Accents to mimic the foam on the waves. When almost dry, I smeared them with my finger.

Stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) with Versafine Black Onyx.

Cut diagonal strips in the dark blue cardstock to hold the heron piece, then mounted it to a white card.
