ID: MC Dec - Blues - Fir Trees card
5w x 7"h

Created: December 11, 2010

If you've seen my recent cards, you'll know I've been following Tim's 12 days of Christmas tags again this year. Lots of wonderful techniques and ideas. This card uses his Acrylic Dabber as a resist on his day 5 tag.

I dabbed Snow Caps Dabber to create a hilly terrain, leaving white cardstock showing through. Sponged Distress stamp pads (Broken China & Stormy Sky) over the whole page, putting more in some areas and leaving almost the white of the page in others. Misted with water, wiped of the color on the hilly section and dried the rest. Added more dabber but with Pearl in some sections of the hills to give a snowy sheen. Love the way the hills turned out.

Stamped a speckle stamp in the sky area with perfect Medium and embossed with holographic embossing powder. Stamped the geese (Onyx Xpressions) with Versafine Black Onyx and dabbed some of the white dabber on the stamp, making the geese less intense looking. Colored the moon/sun with a bit of yellow colored pencil. Added silver Peel Off outline stars and then inserted white pearlized star rhinestones.

Stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) with the black and clear embossed.

Pressed the edges into the Stormy Sky pad and embossed with the holographic. Love that little touch of glitter along the edges.

Layered this onto a dark blue metallic cardstock, then onto a white main card which I edged with double sided tape, adhered my layers, then applied Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Warm Highlights" and then some "Blue Teal" getting a mottled effect. Burnished well.

The last thing to add were the trees which are from one of Tim's embossing folders which I cut out then applied a thin layer of Aleene's Glitter Snow. (you can see a bit of the glitter in the pic at right)
