Love the way this card turned out. I was playing with my friend's Cuttlebug "Winter Frolic" embossing folder set, and this evolved. The background for the word Noel is a large 5 x 7 embossing folder with a border at the top & bottom. Very pretty border, but I wanted a smaller size frame, so I manipulated it to the size I wanted, thermal embossed it with detail White embossing powder, then wrote in my letters with a black micron pen. Now I realized Flourishes was having a challenge for the latest releases called "Winter White" and as you guessed it the challenge is to make a card predominately white...

I used one of my favorite techniques, layering strips of paper or cardstock, then filling in the spaces. In this case, I used all kinds of textures of white, including satin and gauze ribbon on to white cardstock and a layer of Sookwang double sided tape. I sprinkled Ritz micro fine glitter "Stardust" in the spaces. Trimmed it down to go edge to edge on my card.

On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped the Oriental lanterns (Auntie Amy) with Versafine Black Onyx, colored them in with Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils, (a touch of red & yellow), then moved it with a waterbrush. When dry, cut around each lantern and adhered it to my card, drew hanging lines to the rubber stamped holly sprig (Inkadinkado "Winter Borders" #99529). As a final touch added a bit of Sakura Stardust clear glaze pen on parts of the letters and on the one side of each lantern.
