Libra#1 I used a deep burgundy/purple "Strathmore" textured card stock. The Happy Birthday lettering was done with black embossing powder. The large Italic lettering was painted using pearlescent inks. The quote is done in Copperplate using gold pearlescent ink. The whole card has black embossed lines to mimic stained glass lead lines. Some of the space between these lines are collaged using hand painted embellished Japanese rice paper, some of which were clear embossed to give more of a glass look. Maple leaves were punched out of the same rice paper and the back hinge strips are also from the same embellished rice paper. |
People are like stained glass windows, they sparkle and |
shine when the sun is out, but when darkness sets in, their |
beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within. -Elizabeth Barrett Browning |
