This was the prototype for another gilded card I'll be using as a sample for a gilding class I'll be teaching.

I used a white cardstock for the gilded strip and rubber stamped holly leaves. After the gilding I cut around the leaves and then adhered it to a "Stonewashed" cardstock in a greenish tone. Rubber stamped the sprigs onto the new piece of cardstock. I used Mona Lisa size mixed with a bit of yellow ochre Gouache and composition gold leaf. Painted in the red border and coloring on the holly. Did a dry emboss technique on the gilded area. The "Best Wishes" is one of my calligraphic Peel Offs available from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
