Went to our Guild's "Friday Frolics" and we made these Luminaries as seen in Cloth Paper Scissors, I think Dec/12 issue.

I wasn't quite sure what we needed so had decorated a piece of 12 x 12 textured cardstock. It really was supposed to be a plain piece of thick cardstock for the base and then something like Chiyogami paper or wrapping paper, thin stuff for the outside so it wouldn't distort at the crease lines. I just cut my cardstock at those points to eliminate that problem.

I really like the results so will make a couple more. BIG GRIN

The background cardstock was decorated with Dylussions Spray inks in yellow and orange and lots of water, allowed to dry. Then stencilled with various Crafters Workshop stencils and some Dylussions stencils. Stamped with Dylusions leaves. Also used embossing pastes through some of the stencils. Let everything dry then did some calligraphy words, this way and that, with a wide Zig pen.

The paper was cut down to 9"h x 12"w. Accordion folded for the 4 panels and folded in half so it ended up being 4.5"h. A slit cut from the first fold to the last fold.

My decorative pieces were adhered to the terra cotta base cardstock, then the windows cut out and vellum or thin rice paper etc was adhered on the inside. Eyelets and other paraphernalia was put on. Some wrap around closure pieces were made from the leftover cardstock.
