Continuing on with the journal...

I created the background at home prior to the class using Dylusions Sprays on Arches Text Wove paper. This is half of the page I made. I was thinking of lettering with water in a lifting technique, but the background was too dry and not enough color lifted... so in this case I used Art Quest Metallic watercolors and a flat edged brush for my lettering of the main word and a pointed pen for the rest

This was scribble-y type letters done with a Sharpie metallic gold pen on black Spectrum cardstock. Some spaces were then painted with the Art Quest Interference palette. Christmas was written with the silver Sharpie.

This is the other half of the Dylusions background I made. You can see the "O" that I tried to lift... I then used several coats of diluted NeOpaque white and a Pilot Parallel pen. The wet ink was lifting some of the underneath colors which I really liked.

I then used a quickie glue pen to just put a line through the letter and gilded it with a variegated gold leaf. The "Y" became off balance so added some horizontal doodad lines through a couple of the letters.

This is just totally not my style... I used the dropper in the FW Acrylic White ink bottle to scribble the letters on the black cardstock. It took till the next day to dry though... I then used the Inktense Blocks to color some spaces and wet the areas. Added some holly with the Sharpie gold pen.

This was a mistake.. I had used a stylus to write my words and the painted over them - didn't like the results, so just wrote over the whole thing with the black ink from a 6.0 Pilot Parallel Pen. When dry did some doodads with the Sharpie gold and silver pens.

I started writing my letters with water and a parallel pen on Canson Ingres paper, then dropping in watercolors. When dry, went around the letters with a pointed nib pen and FW Acrylic blue ink.
