Heather Victoria Held - Enchanted Letters P1"

Created: June 8, 2019
Modified:

Lettering done with a combination of Gillot 404,  and Nikko G nib, most with either Macaffrey's "Brown" ink or Copic White Opaque mixed 50/50 with H2º

Heather has challenged us to created every letter of the alphabet for our journals... I think it's a challenge I'll try to keep.

ID: "Y" (for Yogi)

We started out with drawing our letter using a pencil in a monoline script. Then adding weight (or ribbon type details). Then adding the floral holders (that are painted in gold on this image). Then adding our floral and leaf elements. Then transferring the image to our good paper or cardstock.

I created this one on 110# Staples cardstock. Added the deco roses (from Gemma Black's recent class...). Inking everything with the brown ink and then coloring with Prisma colored pencils. Adding the gold details with Gansai Tambi gold paint.

ID: "G" (for Grunwald)

This letter was also done on the 110# cardstock. I used watercolors to paint this one, using brown for the ribbons with Gansai Tambi gold stripes and dots.

ID: "L" Lean on me

Thought I'd try something on black... used Strathmore "Artagain" black paper. I was having problems with my gilding adhesive... so I over painted in the areas that didn't take the gild with some green paint. It's a leaf after all so I took artistic license...

The letter was painted with Titanium white watercolor and outlined with the Copic white and a pointed nib.

The flowers I put deep pink dots and then a wet brush to move the color around adding yellow centers and white Copic line details.

ID: "R"

This one's letter design is pretty much a copy of an exemplar. My flowers are a little larger so fewer of them.

I used my Daniel Smith dot watercolor sheets. for the flowers and leaves. Colored Prisma pencils for the ribbons and the Gansai Tambi gold.

Sponged a bit of Pan Pastels green. Hard to see, it's really a soft application
