Connie Furgason- Italic Class 2022 |
Created: April 1, 2022 This is a ZOOM class from March 31 - April 28, 2022 Italic is my least favorite calligraphic hand, but I'm really trying to like it and hopefully learning some of Connie's variations will help me get over my dislike...

ID: Day 1 On Rhodia calligraphy paper and using a 3.0 Parallel pen with Sumi ink, we practiced our basic Italic lettering

ID: Day 1 Homework - Limericks Yesterday Connie sent us our homework for day 1, so we had little chance to get it done before our next class today... The only comment I'll make is I still don't like the look... it's just so blah. Sure hope I get better at it... |
ID: Day 2 On Rhodia calligraphy paper and using a 2.4 Parallel pen with Sumi ink, we continued practicing our basic Italic lettering and using colored pencils to check spacing, counter space, checking slant etc... |
ID: Day 4 - Caps 2 nib widths higher than lower case. I have to get used to that... I usually like my caps higher than my "b" "l's" etc. I'm seeing some definite mistakes... We'll see what Connie thinks. Using a 3.0 Parallel pen and Sumi ink on Calligraphy practice paper. |
