Our Guild (BVCG.ca) has a theme of "Laugh, Learn" for our November /19 Journal. It's not a theme that inspires me like the "word" theme I did a few months... but c'est ala vie... I looked and looked and couldn't find anything that resonated with me.. And then there it was and I had 1 day to create it before the deadline.

I drew the text and then used masking fluid on 90# Arches HP watercolor paper. Sprayed with Distress Oxides "Frayed Burlap" several times, semi drying between coats and adding/spraying water, blotting. (the frayed burlap seems to have a rusting effect in it's makeup.).

I then sprinkled some walnut crystals into the wetness, misting with water. Then gave a squirt of walnut ink. Dried thoroughly and removed the masking.

Wrote the bottom line, author and signature with a white gel pen.
