This broadside won 2nd place ribbon at the 2004 Heritage Fall Fair contest in the Calligraphy "Fall/Harvest" category

Calligraphy "Thanksgiving#1"
Matted not applicable
Framed size: W 15 x H 8

The word Thanksgiving was done in a quilling technique. I painted and cut my own strips in a gold and an orangey tone. The outline of the letter is a purple cardstock. The word Happy is gold paint. The saying is done with gold paint and accented with purple acrylic ink on a strip of cream paper. The background is a purple textured "Strathmore" cardstock. The maple leaves are punched out of hand painted and embellished Japanese rice paper and then outline with gold gel pen.

This piece is a 3 dimensional work of art and the purple card stock is worked up to create the walls. The strip of cream paper also works up the walls.

Frame: Good quality gold metal frame.
