This piece won a 3rd place ribbon for Brush Lettering/Pointed Pen

This is such a happy song and of course once I started with it it just kept repeating itself in my head...

I'm using 2 sizes of flat edge brushes, a Princeton Select 48 - 3750CB6 for the larger letters and a Royal & Langnickel 2 - Acrylic Shader dipping half the side of my brush in to QOR watercolors "Quinacridone Magenta" & the other half of the brush into "Phthalo Blue (Green Shade) and doing a Fraktur style of lettering. When finished, I misted a paper towel and wiped down on the letters, smearing the paint - giving it a rainy look...

The rest of the text was done with a pointed pen with a Nikko G nib in the same style of lettering using Sumi ink.

I matted it with a dark blue inner mat and an off white outer mat.

The quote: I'm singing in the rain, just singing in the rain, what a glorious feeling I'm happy again. I'm laughing at clouds so dark up above, the sun's in my heart, I'm ready for love. Lyricist Arthur Freed
