Our guild is having another show - this time at the Fish Creek Library here in Calgary, Alberta. I'm submitting 2 pieces, both gilded after taking Georgia's class on things Greek and Gilded. loved it...

This song was rolling around in my head... another one of those days.

If you're down and confused and you don't remember who you're talking to. Concentration slips away cause your baby is far away. Well there's a rose in the fisted glove and the eagle flies with the dove and if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with.

The Main word "Love" was done with a 6.0mm Parallel Pen, scanned and then enlarged and printed out. Transferred the tracing to my Stonehenge paper. Painted with a mix of the Opera Pink mixed with Schminke Rich Pale Gold. When dry, applied a couple coats of Jerry Tresser gilding Size adhesive. Then applied and tooled the 23K Red Gold. Used 2 types of pencil for the shadowing - an 8B on the left side and a B on the right section, then blended with a paper stump.

I worked on Stonehenge off white paper. I mixed a shade of Winsor & Newton Opera Pink with Daler Rowney Jet Black to write the main words using a pointed pen - Nikko G nib.

Lettering around the piece done with a HB lead pencil.
