Our guild is having another show - this time at the Fish Creek Library here in Calgary, Alberta. I'm submitting 2 pieces, both gilded after taking Georgia's class on things Greek and Gilded. loved it...

It's been a long time since I've done Kersal lettering... but some of my pieces were showing up on Pinterest recently, so I thought I'd do one again. This is another song evoked after choosing the word...

I worked on Stonehenge black paper. The mosaic background was done with Winsor & Newton Opera Pink & tints created with Zinc White and a 2.4mm Parallel Pen. Outlining with a pointed Nikko G nib.

Painted with a mix of the Opera Pink mixed with Schminke Rich Pale Gold. When dry, applied a couple coats of Jerry Tresser gilding Size adhesive. Then applied and tooled the 22K Moon Gold using a piece of envelope protective sleeve plastic to tool through.

I used the 2nd palest of my tints to outline the letters and create the border. Then went in with Prisma colored pencils in white as an under layer, then with a deep pink.

For the words I used the Schminke mixed Opera Pink and a pointed pen.
