I Believe 3 & 4 - Gelli Prints

I absolutely love this song "I Believe" - lyrics by Ervin Drake 1953. It just kept repeating itself in my brain, to the point I had to do it calligraphically...

song: I believe for every drop of rain that falls a flower grows.
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night a candle glows.
I believe for everyone who goes astray someone will come to show the way.
I believe above the storm the smallest pray'r will still be heard.
I believe that someone in the great somewhere hears every word.
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry, or touch a leaf, or see the sky, I know why I believe.

Double matted with a light sage green inner matt and warm white outer mat

I put small drops of Golden Fluid acrylic paints on to my medium sized Gelli plate (Quinacridone Burnt Orange, Jenkins Green, Green Gold, Ultramarine Violet, & Ceramcoat Copen Blue). Brayered to merge color without making MUD... Misted with water and pressed my Arches 90# HP watercolor paper onto my plate, burnishing the color into the paper. (I Believe #3). Misted my gelli plate again and spattered water and made another print (I Believe #4).

I Believe #3:
wrote the song using a mix of Copic white opaque ink and water, using a Nikko G nib.

Wrote in the title using 6.0 Parallel pen and dipping in to Dr Martins watercolor inks sprinkled with Schminke gold powder. When dry, outlined one side with a fine tipped black pen. Spliced the title onto my text page and adhered two thin strips of green 1/16"w quill paper. Wrote in the lyric name and my signature.

I Believe #4:
Used the same nib and Sumi ink for the text. The title is again a 6.0 Parallel pen with Pilot black ink. I then went over the letters with Dr Martins ink from above with the gold powder.
Drew in my 2 lines with a Zig Writer, then wrote in the lyrics name and my signature with a fine tipped pen.
