Another piece I created for an upcoming show being held by our Guild (1st week in May 2014). Keeping my fingers crossed...

Drew my blocks lightly with a pencil. Drew my letters to spell DR. SEUSS then outlined them with a Warm grey Prisma colored pencil. Colored the letters with Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils and moved the color around with a waterbrush. I found it a bit too intense... so pulled out my Gelli plate and put a layer of cheap thin gesso on it, brayered it smooth and then pressed my artwork down on it, and while still wet, used a paper towel to rub off some of the gesso, which activated some of the color beneath as well. Love the muted and distressed effect this gave.

Also love the lettering I used for the text block (originally found on Peter Taylor - Brisbane Aus. website), done with a 3.8mm Parallel Pen filled with Sumi Ink mixed with H2º.

When dry added dots of Viva Glitter Liner "Holo Iridescent" in the diamonds.
