BVCG - March 2020 Lettering Challenge - Mini Booklet

Created: March 5, 2020
Modified:

I decided not to bind this month's challenge pieces in a Zutter binding... I recently came across this style of mini booklet and decided to make one. When done I said to myself it would be great to hold my lettering challenge pieces, the only problem - it only had 20 pockets... So I improvised and added a few more pages to hold all my pieces for the month. I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

I cut all my pages from a white cardstock (unknown brand). Assembled it and the inked the edges with the bullet tip of a Zig Writer. I raided my stash of geli prints and trimmed them down then adhered them to each of the pages.

Here you can see the tie closer which is just a cord adhered to the back cover, Squeeze the booklet and slip off the cord.

Lettering done with a Zig Writer and a Parallel pen with Sumi ink on Vellum, then inserted under the corners. I added a drop of glue to 2 of the corers to hold the vellum in place.

I die cut these borders (Tim's 3D cut emboss dies) from black cardstock. Applied Prima Art Alchemy waxes in various shades to match the geli print colors.

The corner die cut is really a Creative Expressions Sue Wilson "Frames & Tags - Refines Rectangular Frame" die which I cut the corner to fit my booklet.

One of the pages.

Another of the pages

And another page...

The booklet standing open. The pages lay flat when opened.

The back with the cord adhered to the back cover.

The spine with various beads and a couple of hand made beads I made eons ago. The extra pages I added I adhered to the inside with some glue and then pierced holes to sew them in.
