Mystery Stamp
Due Date: April 30th, 2007 I finally found Mayfair cardstock that creases and accepts different medias beautifully. I wrote the word "Sand Rose" using a lot of different colors of Gouache with Neuberg-E-Ebel Metal Leaf powder "Fine Gold #30" (same as Schmincke Gold); needs to float on top of the color, and a Pentel Parallel pen 6.0, (Detail pic below where you can see some of the gold in the detail image - top of each letter and working towards the middle). The lettering is a funky style learnt in Lisa Engelbrechts class. I then rubber stamped the border and Sand Rose Lady using Portfolio water soluble Oil Pastels (available at Quietfire Design), coloring my melt art mat (used as a palette) and spritzed lightly with some water, then smooshed the rubber stamp into the mixture. I impressed the rubber stamp into some white Sculpey, baked it, cut it out around the flower and face area with an x-acto blade, and then colored it in with Metallic Rub On's (available at Quietfire Design). I used an old brush to get the colors into the crevices (Cameo Pink for the flower & Sunburst for the hair), then with my finger skimmed over the raised edges (Rosewood for the flower & Deep Gold for the hair). Edged the piece with a Krylon Gold Leafing pen and glued it to the card with Golden's Soft Gel Medium (detail pic below). |
