ArtIsLettingCard

By Hand Artist Mystery Stamp
ID: Art Is Letting - Friend

Due Date: Feb 27th, 2007
5"w x 6"h

I used a pink Bazill cardstock. Cut out the negative portions of the heart and bottom border (if you are seeing dark grey around the heart, it's only the scanner background). I created the decorative background for the heart with glossy white cardstock and Portfolio Oil Pastels, some rubbing with tissue paper, thermal embossing both to heat the background and then when using clear embossing powder. At the bottom of this page is a link to go to the detailed technique page with images of each step I did. I rubber stamped the quote prior creating the background technique with Midnight Black Brilliance dew drop stamp pad and clear embossing powder.

When the background was completed I scratched in my words using a C-5 calligraphy nib. Then I clear embossed the heart prior to gluing to my card. Wrote words around the heart using a purple micron pen. The word "Friend" is done with an italic rubber font alphabet (Quietfire Design), using Brilliance Dew Drop stamp pad "Crimson Copper" and clear embossing powder.

Tip: When working on textured cardstock and even regular cardstock I like to use a thin piece of foam (by Darrice sold in craft stores) under my work (remove before thermal embossing or the foam will melt).

Stamp quote: Art is letting your fingers capture what your heart is saying.

Words scratched on Heart: Layer upon layer I peel away my self.

Words in Heart border: A true friend sees the person behind the layers and loves them anyway. Thank you for being my Friend.
