I drew a cartoon of Marie Antoinette holding one of her tarts (rather than a cake). I used Tombow markers to color everything in and added touches of glitter to her dress, hair and necklace. I computer printed out the words "The Queen of Hearts, she loved her tarts, but the good citizens said "Off with her head" I created a pocket and put in an insert with Le  Marseillaise written in English.

BastilleDayBack

For the back, I printed out a copy of Monet's "Rue Montorgueil, Paris festival June 30, 1878" onto mulberry paper and glued it to my cardstock. The painting depicts the French flag  being waved from everyone's windows and a crowd below  celebrating Bastille day.

BastilleDayInsert

I'm only showing the front of the insert. I used both sides to print out the Marseillaise (in English), the French National Anthem. I painted the colors of the French  flag in Cobalt Blue and Solar Scarlet Magic Colors.
