Created: March 27, 2008 Size: 4.5"w x 4.5"h This week's challenge was to use rubber stamps to create a background. I was making some ATC's using this stamp for both a focal point and an accent and said to myself it would be perfect for this week's challenge. So I created this birthday card. I started with a piece of light yellow Bazzill Monochromatic cardstock, rubber stamping the background (Hero Arts "Floral Borders") using Color Box multi stamp pad (in the pink/orange range) and flipping the stamp each time so I wouldn't get a repeat type pattern, then clear embossing it. Mounted that to a piece of purple cardstock, then onto the main fuchsia card. The word (Happy Birthday) inset is one of my Calligraphic Peel Offs that are on the market now. I stuck it to a piece of white cardstock and then colored in areas with Prisma colors in a yellow and fuchsia. Adhered that to a plum cardstock then onto the main card. Added the flowers using two sizes of Sakura floral punch and some left over decorated paper I made eons ago in a Lorraine Douglass class. They are only stuck at the very center and the petals are raised. I added a Stickles yellow dot in each center. |

NOTE: The Peel Off on the front of the card is a release from Mar/08. It is one of my calligraphic word sentiments on the "Elizabeth Craft Design" labels. There are 6 styles available at the moment with another 5 to be available mid May. They come in four different colors (gold, silver, black, and white); "Thank You", "It's a Boy, It's a Girl", "You're Invited" Congratulations" "Happy Birthday & "Love". The five for May are; "Friends", "Thinking of You", "Xmas Seasonal", "Xmas" & Happy Anniversary" |
