This week's challenge was to use the colors Black, White & Grey.

I've been playing a lot with Pan Pastels. (I absolutely love them), but have always been using colors. I thought why not try them in the grey tones. I'm very happy with the backgrounds created with (Black, White, Neutral Grey & Payne's Grey). OK so the backgrounds are done now. What next. Then I went naturally to the recent release of rubber stamps by Quietfire Design "Crows", love them too. The crow is naturally black and music is usually written in black, so voila. I rubber stamped the music notes with Distress Dye Ink "Black Soot" and the crow/flourish with black pigment stamp pad and embossed with Hematite (similar to black). Added my words with a quill nib and Dr Martin's Bleed Proof White ink then did a shadow stroke with a Black Pigma pen.  The central crow was rubber stamped on a blank stamp then stamped on the ATC to get the mirror image (did have to go over some sections that didn't ink completely(.
