I really like using Tyvek (Quietfire Design) to create these organic type shapes.

I took a piece about 4 x 6", ran several pigmented stamp pads over the whole piece. Sprinkled several different embossing powders randomly over it (Opals ":Rosevears", "Banksia" & "Eucalypt" and some gold detail. Used my heat gun to melt and distort the Tyvek. See detail pic below. I cut a piece of black core gold mat board and attached my organic shape using very thin gold wire, wrapping it through the holes created by the heat and around the cardstock. Then mounted it to black cardstock and onto the main red cardstock. 

I used Peel Offs "Happy Birthday" in gold on black cardstock then onto my main red card.  I punched holes on the edge of each piece of black cardstock and threaded a variegated metallic thread.

NOTE: This is one of the designs on the Peel Offs "Birthday" sheet that have just been released and will be available around Jan 2008 to retail outlets, It comes in gold, silver, black, and white. There will also be "It's a Boy, It's a Girl", You're Invited" Congratulations" "Thanks & "Love". Two more will be coming out later in the year I think.
