Dec 16, 2008 - Xmas Ornament

Love this challenge. One of the design team members from Quietfire design did a more circular designed ornament with scalloped edges and about 8 sections. Really pretty. We were given the instructions and said - make one - Big Grin.

I recently got some of Suzanne's (Quietfire Design) xmas rubber stamp set, one of which is this Merry Christmas word art snowflake. Love it. So I rubber stamped it onto some cream toned cardstock using Brilliance Pearlescent rust and Queen's Gold embossing powder, and rather than cut it in a circle I tried cutting it in a simple snowflake type design. Now I had the challenge to make 4 more the same so that one section was glued to the next section they would fit. After a bit of trial and error and then some trimming, it worked. I added a gold ribbon to hold my ornament and a wood bead which i painted with a Gold Krylon leafing pen. Then at the bottom added one of my paper beads and some gold metal beads. When it was all assembled I mixed a bit of Liquitex Glass Beads and a couple drops of Golden's Gold Iridescent Fluid Acrylics and applied it to the edges, while wet sprinkled some Ritz Glitz dark gold glitter.

I

a little out of focus, but I think you can get the idea of the edging detail
