Created: May 22, 2011 This weeks theme is Flowers I've used a couple sentiments by Quietfire Design. |
I made the water lily from
thick white mulberry cardstock that is very pliable. Hand cut 2 of each
of 3 sizes of 4 petal flowers. Removed one petal from each and layered
and adhered the two petals on either side of the cut out petal, shaping
the center portion to form the new shape. This flower was original done
in material which is a little easier. Added a bead of Liquid Pearls
Dimensional White Opal along the edges and sprinkled Stampendous Crystal
Snow which is a nice white sparkly glitter. Allowed to dry then stacked
and adhered the layers in the center. Punched a hole in the center for
my fluffy yellow piece which was made from yellow tissue paper,
accordion folded, then folded in half and held together with a twist of
wire. I cut it to about a 1/2"h and slice almost down to the wire like a
fringe, then fluffed the fringe, and adhered the wire to the back of the
flower. Drew a lily pad shape, cut out my main card in the lily shape and then cut the leaf. Scored the leaf veins, and applied Distress direct to paper (Bundled Sage, Crushed Olive, Forest Moss and a touch of Pine Needles), blended with a sponging tool at the end. Stamped the Water Lily flowers (Local King Rubber) on the inside of the card with Scattered Straw and clear embossed. Sponged Tumbled Glass then touches of the Bundled Sage. Stamped the leaves with the Forest moss and kissed them with the center veining stamp. Adhered my Leaf front to the easel, the flower to the leaf and stamped the sentiment. Added clear rhinestone flowers for the centers and a rhinestone butterfly for the stopper. Stamped the sentiment with Versafine Black onyx.
