I recently saw this cone
shaped flower used as a wall hanging and thought it would make a great
card. I believe theirs was made with squares. About 3/4 of the cones were made with magazine pages, the other 1/4, I colored the back of a scrapbook paper that had circles on it going direct to paper with Distress Scattered Straw and Dried Marigold. I die cut and punched out a whole bunch of 1" and 1.5" circles. My first row has 22 cones. I used a pencil that I rolled my circle on creating a nice pointed cone shape and giving me something to press down on when I was gluing the edge of the circle to finish the cone. I punched out another 1" circle and put a good bead of white glue near the outside edge. Then I started placing the points of my larger cones around this edge. Put another good bead of glue on the points of this row and a little onto the base circle, then started adhering my smaller cones. My last row as the same as the previous row, but all the points of the cones landed in the center on the base circle. When dry, I adhered an adhesive wedding pearl. The green layer on the card is C'ordinations run through my machine with one of the folders from the Cuttlebug Coolio set. I then sanded the high points and layered this to my main white card. The quote is done on a scrap piece from the cones with Versafine Black Onyx. I then added some blue/green/aqua rhinestones. |
