"Mardis Gras ATC" I had this gorgeous mask stamp I hadn't used yet and thought this was the perfect time. Rubber stamped it onto white cardstock with Versafine Black onyx and thermal embossed with Holographic, which gave it a nice greenish tinge to it. Cut it out leaving a nice white border around the whole image. OK so now what to do with it. I googled Mardis Gras and came up with some surprising information (at least to me). Purple, Green & Gold are the 3 colors associated with Mardis Gras, which I hadn't realized. I always thought it was just flamboyant colors. Well these colors also have a meaning behind them. Purple for justice; Green for faith & Gold for power. So now I had my color scheme |
| So I used my Nestabilities Labels 6, which I just got from Quietfire Design and some deep purple metallic cardstock from Wassau pack, and cut the large oval, and dry embossing it. The smaller oval was cut from some decorated paper I had in my stash done on glossy cardstock brayered with dye inks and spritzed with water. I adhered both of these to a gold metallic cardstock.
I cut out the words Mardis Gras with
my Cricut and welding feature from some gold vellum (a little tricky but
doable). Adhered the mask adding some green feathers and a piece of
Mazuhiki green paper coil, some green paper beads I made using my bead
        roller from
Chuck and attaching them with a narrow purple ribbon. |
