"CBH Sept 22 - "Texture -
Genius Card"
OK so out they came. I started with a piece of plain black cardstock and sprayed the gold webbing over it. Well that didn't do much for me. It was a very fine web spray. I had some left over mini misters filled with Perfect Pearls and water. One with Interference violet and one with Sapphire Blue, so misted the paper all over with those. While wet I sprinkled some loose metal leaf from my stash and pressed them down into the wet area to make them stick. When the paper was dry, rubbed off the excess. Quite a bit stuck.

Ok, the paper still doesn't have any umph... So pulled out the silver from the marbling kit. Boy did that spray go on differently than the gold. Even though I sprayed in a horizontal way, the spray came out in vertical type stripes. Weird. So now I've got a bit more interest in this background. To finish it off, I used Liquitex Glass Bead medium and just smeared thin amounts over various sections, following some of the web strokes. When it dried it enhanced the black cardstock and gave a wonderful finishing touch. I mounted the background to a light grey with green undertone cardstock. Rubber stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) using a Versafine stamp pad "Black Onyx" and embossed with Queen's Gold. Added the black/ faux white stitching ribbon to finish it off. |
You can see the hints of the interference violet in this image.

You can see some of the glass beads in the lower left hand corner and along the bottom. Some of the vertical stripes of the silver webbing and the gold and variegated leaf. |
