Quilling - Irish Themed  (March 2009)

Created: March 9, 2009
Modified: March 18, 2009

There wasn't any theme proposed this month for my face to face group, but being March, I thought I'd make some Irish themed ATCs, although I didn't have very much time to devote to creating them. But I'm pleased with the results.

I took a another class on March 5, 2009  and we were taught "Eccentric Circles" technique. Interesting. While at class I happened to say, now all I have to do is figure out how to make them into shamrocks. Well this is the results. BIG GRIN

The bases for the first 3 ATCs was a dirty Kleenex tissue that had dried paint from when I clean my brushes. I used Sookwang tape on some cream toned cardstock, then lay the tissue down on it, crinkling it at the same time. trimmed the ATC and mounted to another complimenting cardstock. I love the hard and soft lines from the wetting and drying process of the paints.

On the first ATC I also used a piece of green tinged  vellum to write my quote and attached it with the 4 green mini brads. The stems on all of them is a 4 ply Olive drab Waxed Linen thread. I made different sizes of shamrocks, using either a 6" or 9" or 12" length of 1\8" quill paper which I spliced to to get the two colors. The lettering was done with a micron pen. A little bleeding on the lettering, but still acceptable.

The background on this one is a fibrous paper. I was trimming another ATC and it fell across my paper and I just thought it looked really good, so I glued it down.

I cut out the oval using Evolving Images "Oval Thangs set" and adhered it to a green mulberry paper. Added the second shamrock, figuring if one gives you luck, two will give you more??

This is the other portion of the cut out oval from above. Punched out some shamrocks and added some gold glitter.
