PP Challenge Over The Top - Triptych Squared (9 ATCs)

Created: July 26, 2010

These are basically single ATCs - I know, after the triptychs they seem so inconsequential...

I picked up a Lisa Pavelka rose embossing leaf cutter. Cute little gadget (actually 3 little gadgets that make 3 sizes of leaves. So I put it to the test and am really happy with the results. Hope she comes out with some other shapes. I used the leaf shape to make the petals as well, obliterating the spikes on the leaf edges and not using the embosser. Shaped them and scrunch them and then baked them. And I baked a little too long so some came out all distorted, but make great fall leaves. I put a layer of Art Quest PPA matte adhesive on the leaves and applied some Perfect Pearls powder. Added some stamen in the hole I created before baking.

The one above uses the Asian Bundle "Screen" on a bright yellow, then mounted to a dark green.

The ATC below has gold leaf applied to the leaves using Mona Lisa size. Used the squares folder from the "Everyday Bundle" set on purple cardstock and embossed the high points with plum pearl embossing powder. Mounted it to a gold metallic cardstock.

The words are cut with my Cricut.

The 3 ATCs above are another batch of polymer clay flowers I made. I used Premo clay, which seems to have a nice leathery feel after baking. So I'm not afraid of it cracking when pressure from my ATC book is applied. I had some other ATCs done with Fimo that have definitely seen better days. These were also touched with some Perfect Pearls on the flowers prior baking. And I'm finally using some background blanks I've had for eons.

I rubber stamped the butterfly/script (Stamp-it Australia set #010) background on white cardstock with Versafine Majestic Blue, then sponged Distress blues all around.

Ran a piece of copper tape (slug tape) through the Cuttlebug with Tim's cracked embossing folder, then painted with black acrylic paint and wiped off the high points, layered onto the blue background.

The old paper is white copy paper stamped with a large music background stamp (Cornish Heritage Farms #SB-107xum) stamped  in black, soaked in a solution of Distress inkers and some water (tea dye, walnut stain), adhered to copper layer.

The flourish is die cut from mat board using one of the Sizzix floral stems, painted with distress crackle and dotted with Enamel Accents.

The butterfly is from the same Stamp-it set, colored and embossed then cut out. Little half pearls were added on the body.

The leaf sprig is punched from scrap decorated paper using the McGill pine bough punch. And lastly I added some paper flowers putting an orange gel dot in the centers.

The word "Enjoy" written with a white pen and then over again with a black pen.

The textured background is the release paper from the copper piece and colored with alcohol inks, mounted to a light pink main cardstock.

The scalloped layers are die cut with Tim's On The Edge "Brackets" die from various decorated scraps. One with glitter, one sponged with yellowish Distress colors and the top layer also with Distress colors or purples.

The doodle is a Spellbinder's Doodle Parts die, cut from black cardstock and embossed with copper.

Same butterfly, colored and embossed and cut out with a diamond shaped rhinestone for the body.

The word "Breathe" written with a micron pen.
