"Color Brush" SERIES (March 2007)

ID: Color Brush - You're Hot  (unavailable)

Suzanne from Quietfire Design posed a question. Have I ever stamped using Pentel Color Brushes. Well the answer was NO. So I pulled out my brushes (I have all the colors, they're glorious, and I use them for calligraphy and other art related things but never for stamping).

All these ATCs use the Pentel Color Brushes to color the stamps. Most of the images in the Coluzzle page also use the color brushes.

I used a dragonfly in a square stamp (Fairie Song) and color brushes (Pink & Yellow/Orange & Sepia for the border area) on white cardstock.  The colors together are like neon - really hot. Outlined the card with a Baby Blue Zig marker. I added some pale pink glitter in the wings. Used a Bubble corner adorner punch. Added my words "Oh boy You're Hot" with a blue Zig marker. Mounted it onto magenta cardstock.

The next 2 ATCs use a stamped tile as a focal point.

I started out with a square of book board (you can use mat board or other very heavy cardstock)  just under 3/4" square. Paint or color your side edges. Apply minimum of 3 layers of your main color inking between each new layer. I also added a layer of "Pearl" embossing powder with Perfect Medium (can use clear embossing stamp pad). Then inked again with the clear and sprinkled on accent colors that will give the tile character and while this was in the hot melt stage pressed my inked (staz-on) rubber stamp into it. (see individual colors below)

Color Brush _ Just be

I rubber stamped the square pattern (Quietfire Design) with the color brushes (Steel Blue & Purple) on Stonehenge "Fawn" cardstock several times, then cut out the section I wanted. Glued down my tile with some blue metallic embroidery floss under the tile. Mounted it  onto magenta cardstock.

Tile colors: 3 layers of Brilliance Olive Dew Drops stamp pad with gold detail embossing powder. 1 layer of Perfect Medium with Pearl embossing powder.  Final layer with Judikins "Psychedelic", Inkadinkado "Hot Pink,  Clearsnap Top Boss "Blue" & Artful Stamper "Aegean Silver". Rubber stamp Heart Square (Quietfire Design) and Staz-On black stamp pad.

I rubber stamped the square pattern again with the color brushes (Yellow, Orange & Sepia) on Stonehenge "white" cardstock several times, then cut out the section I wanted. Glued down my tile and added my words "Just Be" using My Sentiments Exactly alphabet stamp set. Outlined the card with Krylon gold metallic pen.  Mounted it  onto a striped metallic bronzy/copper paper (Quietfire Design).

Tile colors: 3 layers of Brilliance Olive Dew Drops stamp pad with copper detail embossing powder. 1 layer of Perfect Medium with Pearl embossing powder.  Final layer with Judikins "Psychedelic", Stampendous "Pirates Gold" & "Black". Rubber stamp Latin Word Square (Quietfire Design) and Staz-On black stamp pad.
